Meryl Galaid

After a triumphant appearance last Spring, meryl is thrilled to return to the stage at the Regent Theatre. Whether belting out a Liza tune or putting her heart into a ballad, Meryl Galaidmeryl sings The Best of Broadway and More! For more than 20 years, galaid’s one-woman show has taken her on journeys down the Eastern Coast from the Sands Hotel in Atlantic City to countless performances throughout New England.

As an actress, her credits include leading roles in regional productions of "Guys & Dolls", "Kiss Me Kate", "An Evening of Rodgers & Hammerstein", "Company", "Godspell" , "Oliver" , and "Fiddler on the Roof ".

Her recent portrayal of the evil Miss Hannigan in "Annie" prompted one local reviewer to write "meryl galaid can only be described as a true comedienne, combining physical comedy with a strong brassy belt and most importanty, a deep soul!".

meryl has performed with the Reagle Players of Waltham, Ma in their award-winning production of "Singin In The Rain" directed by Broadway's Kirby Ward. She was thrilled to don a yellow slicker, hat, boots and umbrella, and actually splash and dance around on stage in the show’s memorable rain storm grand finale! Her most recent venture in Waltham was with the brilliant cast of "The Music Man" starring WBZ-TV’s Scott Wahle and Sarah Pfisterer. As a pianist, meryl has tickled the ivories at some of Boston’s well known piano bars.

Experienced Bostonian piano bar patrons probably remember belting out a tune with meryl at Bettes Rolls Royce, Diamond Jim’s at the Lenox Hotel, and Lily’s in Faneuil Hall. Some of meryl’s favorite audiences are of the pre-school age! Her Best of Children’s Songs & More! has been enjoyed by numerous children’s organizations and pre-schools throughout the Boston area.

Most recently, meryl realized a life-long dream. She took flight as "Peter", the boy who refused to grow up in the Pentucket Player's most successful production of "Peter Pan"! After numerous performances and passing out "pinches" of fairy dust after each show, meryl says "I'm not sure what will top this incredible opportunity to be Peter, but I would love to return to Neverland before too long"!
